All house plans presented on this website are protected by copyright. Reproduction of these house plans, either in whole or in part, including any form of copying and/or preparation of derivative works thereof, for any reason without written permission from Michael Campbell Design, LC is strictly prohibited. The purchase of a set of house plans in no way transfers to the buyer any copyright or other ownership interest in the plan or the design of the dwelling unit. The purchase of a set of house plans provides the buyer a limited license to use that set of house plans for the construction of one, and only one, dwelling unit. The purchase of additional sets of house plans at a reduced price from the original set or as part of a multiple set package does not convey to the buyer a license to construct more than one dwelling unit.

Similarly, the purchase of reproducible house plans (PDF) carries the same copyright protection outlined above. It is generally allowed to make up to a maximum of ten (10) for the construction of a single dwelling unit only. To use any house plan more than once, and to avoid copyright/licensure infringement, it is necessary to contact Michael Campbell Design, LC to receive a release and license to make copies. It should be noted that as copyrighted material, making photocopies of blueprints or blacklines is illegal.

Copyright and licensing of house plans for construction exists to protect all parties. It respects and supports the intellectual property of the original residential designer.

Copyright law has been been reinforced by the designer in the past. Willful infringement could cause result in statutory damages up to $100,000 plus attorneys fees and loss of profits.

After purchasing a set of house plans, additional sets of those plans are available within 3 months of the purchase date of the original plans. After 3 months from the purchase date of the original set of plans, a new set of plans must be purchased.
